TaxLink.ca Platform Disclaimer

Last updated: October 14, 2026

1. What TaxLink.ca Is

TaxLink.ca (“the Platform”, “we”, “us”) is an online marketplace that connects taxpayers (“Clients”) with independent tax preparation professionals and accounting firms (“Vendors”). We are neither a buyer nor a provider of tax filing services. We are not a party to any commercial or service contract entered into between a Client and a Vendor. Our role is strictly limited to providing the website as a venue, facilitating listings and payments, and enforcing platform-level rules.

2. Geographic Restrictions (Exclusion of Quebec)

TaxLink.ca limits its platform operations, availability, and marketplace services exclusively to residents of Canadian provinces and territories excluding the Province of Quebec. The Platform does not host, support, or facilitate the preparation or filing of Quebec provincial tax returns (Revenu Québec). Any use of this Platform by residents of Quebec is strictly unauthorized.

3. No Tax, Accounting, or Legal Advice

TaxLink.ca is not an accounting firm, a tax advisory firm, or a law firm. Nothing contained on this website, including blogs, guides, marketplace descriptions, or communications from platform support, constitutes tax advice, accounting advice, or legal advice. Any tax filing service is performed solely and independently by the Vendor you select. Clients are solely responsible for reviewing their return and ensuring the accuracy of the information provided before it is submitted to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).

4. Independence of Vendors & No Credentials Guarantee

Vendors on this Platform are independent third-party businesses and are not employees, agents, partners, or joint-venturers of TaxLink.ca. While we require Vendors to state they hold a valid CRA EFILE registration at onboarding, TaxLink.ca does not verify, guarantee, or warrant the accuracy, legal validity, competence, or currency of any Vendor’s professional credentials, certifications, or insurance policies. We do not supervise, direct, or control how a Vendor performs their services. Any dispute regarding service quality, processing errors, or timeliness must be resolved exclusively between the Client and the Vendor.

5. Your Tax Documents

TaxLink.ca does not collect, receive, access, or store your tax slips, Social Insurance Numbers (SIN), or financial supporting documents. All sensitive documents are transmitted directly between you and your chosen Vendor through the Vendor’s independent channels. Each Vendor is independently responsible for safeguarding your personal information in compliance with applicable privacy laws (such as BC’s PIPA).

6. No Guarantee of Outcomes

We make no representation, warranty, or condition regarding: (a) the availability, quality, or suitability of any Vendor; (b) the mathematical or legal accuracy of any tax return prepared through the Platform; (c) the outcome of any filing, reassessment, refund, penalty appeal, or communication with the CRA; or (d) the uninterrupted, secure, or error-free operation of this website. The website and all listings are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • TaxLink.ca shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, tax refunds, revenue, data, or business reputation, arising from your use of the Platform.
  • TaxLink.ca accepts no liability for any financial loss, CRA penalties, late fees, interest, or audit adjustments arising from a Vendor’s services or the information you provided.
  • For any other claim, our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the greater of: (i) the platform fees you paid to us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (ii) CAD $50.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TaxLink.ca, its owners, directors, officers, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Platform; (b) your violation of these terms; (c) any service contract you enter into with a Vendor; or (d) your violation of any Canadian tax, privacy, or consumer protection laws.

9. Governing Law

This Disclaimer is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any legal disputes arising directly or indirectly from this website must be submitted exclusively to the courts of British Columbia.

10. Acceptance

By browsing this website, registering an account, or purchasing any service through TaxLink.ca, you unconditionally confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Disclaimer, our Terms of Service, and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must immediately leave and discontinue using this Platform.
